Rome, Jan. 15 (LaPresse) – The judges of the first criminal section of the Court of Cassation upheld the life sentence for Gilberto Cavallini, who was indicted in the trial for the Bologna massacre, where 85 people were killed and more than 200 were injured. According to the charges, Cavallini provided shelter to Luigi Ciavardini, Francesca Mambro, and Valerio Fioravanti. For Fioravanti, according to the investigations, he also provided a document confirming a false identity. In his closing arguments, the deputy attorney general of the Court of Cassation, Antonio Balsamo, had asked the court to reject the appeal filed by Cavallini's defense.
