Iran, UNICEF: ‘At least 73 women and children killed in attacks’

Rome, 21 June (LaPresse) – "The continuing escalation of hostilities in Iran poses a serious threat to the lives and well-being of millions of children. Over the past six days, air strikes have hit at least 18 provinces in Iran. According to reports, the attacks have killed at least 73 women and children. A single attack on a residential building in the capital on 13 June reportedly killed 20 children. Families report trauma and fear in their children due to the ongoing violence. The psychological toll is growing, adding to the physical danger and long-term damage inflicted by the conflict." This was stated by the interim UNICEF representative in Iran, Monika Oledzka Nielsen.
