Rome, May 17 (LaPresse) – “We don’t want to see the Palestinian population suffer any longer. Enough with the attacks. Let’s reach a ceasefire, free the hostages, and leave in peace a people who were already victims of Hamas, which started this war. We must tell the Israeli government: enough. A reaction has already taken place — now ensure your independence and security, but let’s work towards peace,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Forza Italia leader Antonio Tajani, speaking in Noto during the ‘Forza Italia, Forza di Territorio’ convention.
“We do not support the Israeli government’s recent decisions,” he added. “We’ve made that clear in every possible way, while fully aware that it all began because of Hamas. We are working toward a ceasefire and ultimately a ‘two peoples, two states’ solution — the ideal one. Meanwhile, we’re strongly advocating for the delivery of Italian humanitarian aid. Our ‘Food for Gaza’ project has been widely appreciated and was carried out with the support of both the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government.”
