Milan, 5 June (LaPresse) – ‘European elites are causing chaos, into which they are trying to drag more and more countries.’ This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the St Petersburg Economic Forum. ‘We are witnessing the upheavals affecting the energy markets, the tensions being fuelled in certain regions – particularly in the Middle East at the moment – and the implementation of short-sighted policies by the European bureaucracy,’ Putin emphasised, ‘which are accompanied by aggressive rhetoric and lead to a further weakening of Europe’s position in the global economy, whilst also undermining regional and global security.’ This was reported by the TASS news agency.
